Excursion to Witten – visiting the “Entwicklungsgesellschaft für ganzheitliche Bildung Annener Berg e.V.“

Students of the Master seminar “Environmental Management in Land Use Planning” visited on the 10th of June the “Entwicklungsgesellschaft für ganzheitliche Bildung Annener Berg e.V.“ to explore a unique partnership between a private initiative and the University Witten/Herdecke and learned about how biodiversity and urban agriculture can be a successful combination in food production.

Marion Körner-Zipperle, member of the board, showed how practical work in biodynamic farming, horticulture, and landscape management become part of a broader educational approach. As a model location to promote a sustainable agricultural culture, the community actively shapes the future through common-good initiatives in education, health, and social services.

Such initiatives illustrate how collaboration between educational institutions and local actors can inspire new pathways for sustainable development.
